What's In Season Now

Spring is here! Brighten your meals with local asparagus, new potatoes, and more. Visit our market for an array of seasonal delights.

 

Asparagus

They bring a vibrant, earthy flavour that adds a delightful crunch to any dish. Pair it with lemon, garlic, or Parmesan for a burst of freshness. Enjoy it grilled, roasted, or sautéed as a versatile addition to salads, pasta, or simply as a standalone side.

Rhubarb

Harvested right here in Huntsville. With its tangy and refreshing flavor, rhubarb is a perfect addition to pies, jams, and sauces. Pair it with sweet strawberries or ginger for a delightful culinary experience that celebrates the best of the season.

Wild Leeks

Also called ramps. Fresh, vibrant, bursting with a unique combo of garlic and onion flavours. Their bold taste pairs wonderfully with eggs, potatoes, pasta, and soups. Harvested locally in Muskoka, these seasonal gems are a must-have for any adventurous food lover.

Strawberries

Our farm's strawberries are at their absolute best! Whether you munch on them straight from the basket, toss them into a fresh summer salad, or blend them into a refreshing smoothie, their vibrant flavor will transport you to strawberry heaven.

Zucchini

Straight from the farm! They're mild, slightly sweet, and have a hint of earthiness. Chop 'em up for stir-fries, throw 'em on the grill with your favorite seasonings, or get fancy with zucchini noodles and fresh tomato sauce.

What's seasonal in Ontario?

• Asparagus has a short season in Ontario, being available in May and June.

• Rhubarb is a springtime delight. Tart and vibrant flavors bring a delightful tanginess to pies, jams, and desserts, harvested locally for a limited time.

• Wild Leeks (or ramps) harvested locally in Muskoka, offering a brief window of time to savour their distinctive garlic and onion flavours.

• Snow pea shoots and spinach are available from May through October.

• Strawberries from our farm arrive! June is when theyre at their best and most flavourful in our opinion.

• Cherries are just here for two months: June and July.

• Green and yellow beans are available from June through October.

• Broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage start a six-month season in June, sticking around through November. We grow green and cabbage at the farm!

• Cucumber, lettuce, peas, and zucchini (from the farm) arrive in June and depart in October.

• Beets have a long season, from July through April.

• Carrots have an even longer one, from July through May.

• Corn, tomatoes, peppers and zucchini, all from our farm, are in season from July through October.

• Garlic is in season from July through February.

• Apricots are available in July and August.

• Peaches, and blueberries all have a three-month window of availability, from July through September.

• Plums and raspberries stick around one month longer, available from July through October.

• Pears are available from August through December.

• Grapes, and nectarines are in season in August and September.

• Eggplant from our farm are available from August through October.

• Leeks are in season from August through February.

• Parsnips have an even longer season, available from August through April.

• Squash is available from August to March.

• Brussels sprouts are in season from September through November.

• Red onions’ season runs from September through April.

• Pumpkins come into season in September and last until October.

Potatoes, sprouts, sweet potatoes, cooking onions, mushrooms and greenhouse lettuce, hothouse tomatoes, and cucumbers are available all throughout the year.
