How To Treat Them
- Look for potatoes with tight skin and firm flesh, without wrinkles, cuts, or bruises.
- Store at room temperature in a dry, dark, cool place, for up to three weeks.
- Scrub before use if leaving the skin on. After peeling or cutting, it's recommended to submerge them in cold water to prevent discolouration until ready to use.
How To Cook With Them
They're mild, sweet flavor makes the sweet potato a popular vegetable with a variety of uses. It can be baked, steamed, roasted, boiled, or fried. The peel is also edible.
Sweet potatoes are sweeter and creamier in texture than potatoes (they're actually not from the same species!). They’re healthier too – high in vitamins A & C and full of antioxidants. Their flavour pairs well with warm spices including cumin, chili, as well as cinnamon and nutmeg.
