Wild Muskoka Botanicals Bitters & Shrubs

  • Product Info

Forest Fire Bitters: Made by hand-harvesting cedar from the wildest of places in Muskoka. Start with a fire using the bush craft technique of the cedar bow-drill. Char the fresh cedar leaf and branches over the fire and then jar and smother in locally distilled smoked rye whiskey. After steeping they are blended with extracts of bitter herbs. These bitters are perfect for adding smokey or woodsy flavour to your favourite cocktail.

Rock Barren Bitters: These bitters are made with local Ontario cranberries, wildcrafted juniper and birch syrup are inspired by the gorgeous rock barren landscapes of east Muskoka. Made for the true gin fan they are great in any gin-based cocktail but also work well in a Manhattan or vodka based cocktails.

Spiced Maple Bitters: These spiced bitters are made with aromatic Wild Sarsaparilla (Aralia Nudicaulis) root and fragrant cardamom pods along with traditional bitter herbs and flavoured with maple syrup. These bitters are wonderful in creamy drinks and the carminative action of the cardamom is helpful for settling upset stomachs.

Cranberry & Spruce Shrub: Shrubs are a concentrated syrup of fruit, sugar & vinegar. They are rich and flavourful. Perfect for making healthy sodas & cocktails. We make our Cranberry & Spruce Shrub using cranberries grown in Muskoka and fresh-freeze them so we can make our small batch shrub all year.

Strawberry & Sumac Shrub: We make our Strawberry & Sumac Shrub using local strawberries we pick at their peak from a local ecological farm and fresh-freeze them so we can make our small batch shrub all year. We use our Sumac infused apple cider vinegar and organic cane sugar to create this concentrated drink mix that tastes like summer.
