How To Treat It
- Peaches can be stored at room temperature for three to four days
- For longer storage keep the peaches in the refrigerator
- To peel peaches blanch them in boiling water for about 10 seconds. Then shock them in an ice bath and gently wipe the skin away. Cutting a small slit at the base of the peach also helps with peeling.
How To Cook With It
Besides eating raw out of hand, peaches can be used in a variety of ways. They're commonly found in baked goods such as cakes, pies, and tarts, but is also commonly used in savory dishes. It's flavor pairs well with a number of summer fruits and is delicious combined with different vegetables, herbs, and spices.
